MTU Aero Engines’ Munich site has received an award for instituting practices and conditions beneficial to working parents at the foreign ministry in Berlin recently. The award recognises that MTU passed a Work & Family audit, which guides companies towards family-conscious staff policies. Based on the company’s internal assessment, shortcomings are identified, possible solutions worked out and strategies for development determined. A total of 116 companies and institutions in Germany have applied for the audit, which rewards programmes such as flexitime, part-time work, telework and childcare.
