Spare parts distributor Transaero is hoping that the Canadian Armed Forces will be the launch customer for G-Macs, the Gentex-Mustang air combat system.

The new system, which helps provide a steady flow of air to aircrew, is still under development. It can be seen in Hall 3/F15.

A joint project between American firm Gentex and Canadian firm Mustang Survival, it is aimed at high-speed fighters such as the Lockheed Martin F-16.

The system is designed to provide crew members with programmed pressure breathing to help them maintain mental agility and situational awareness during all manoeuvres.

"G-Macs allows the combat pilot to fly the aircraft to its full performance capability," says vice-president Charles Kane.

Another interesting product on the stand is a new helicopter rescue hoist system, the Breeze Eastern HS-29900.

"This latest state-of-the-art rescue hoist is built for capacity and speed.

"It is the latest-generation rescue hoist system, designed to meet the most demanding search and rescue and military mission requirements," he adds.

"Our first contract was for the Swedish navy, which has put one on all its search and rescue helicopters."
