The European Commission has demanded an explanation from 18 of Europe's "full service" airlines by the end of February about price differences of up to 300% for identical tickets. The EC says it wants to know whether the airlines "charge different prices for exactly the same ticket depending on the country of residence of the client, and why". The move follows "numerous" complaints from the public. One concerned a trip from Frankfurt to Berlin, which cost €68 ($84) if purchased in Germany and €280 if it was bought in Luxembourg.
