Avocet Aircraft has terminated its programme to develop the $2 million, six-seat ProJet very-light jet. The programme was dealt a severe blow in April last year when a manufacturer, believed to be Raytheon, opted not to become a partner in the venture with Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI). IAI, which was to have been responsible for certification and production of the ProJet, had already warned it would not back the effort without a similar commitment from another big manufacturer, and its involvement is believed to have lapsed soon afterwards.
