Retired astronauts, cosmonauts and famous flight directors and other space industry personalities looking to trade on their past achievements can now turn to their very own promotional agency.

The Space Agency was introduced at the show by managing director Gwen Griffin, daughter of renowned Apollo flight director Gerry Griffin. "It was easy to get him on the books," says Miss Griffin, who operates the Griffin-Vosberg Group, a public relations and advertising agency in Houston, where The Space Agency will also be located. "These people have achieved out-of-this-world things. Our goal is to help them bring the excitement of space exploration to all humankind," she says.

Specialist

Former NASA Space Shuttle mission specialist and spacewalker Bernard Harris is one of the agency's first clients. "I have many years of public speaking experience but have always had to market myself," he says. "It's refreshing to have a company that will seek out opportunities for me and market me for things like product endorsements and licensing agreements."

Other clients include French astronaut and NASA mission specialist Jean-Loup Chretien, who is about to retire.

The Space Agency offers its clients for speaking engagements, teamwork, motivation and leadership presentations, seminars and media services. What does Griffin Senior think about The Space Agency? "Gwen is doing a wonderful job for me," he says.
