Pratt & Whitney has signed an agreement with aircraft maintenance firm Nayak Aircraft Services to provide its EcoPower engine washes in Europe.
The German firm is P&W's first European designated service provider, and Nayak will provide the engine wash system in Cologne and at more than 25 other airports where it provides line and base maintenance for nearly all types of regional and single aisle aircraft.
Nayak operates maintenance stations in Austria, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Finland, Poland, Spain and Ireland.
Currently P&W has 92 commercial airline and military customers for its engine wash system at 78 locations worldwide.
The engine washing process is a closed-loop system that uses atomised water to wash aircraft engines and avoids potential contaminant runoff. P&W says the EcoPower wash can reduce fuel burn by as much as 1.2%.
