Australia's Qantas Freight will add a weekly service to the United States city of Dallas, Texas from 6 August.

The service will connect Shanghai, China to Dallas Forth Worth via. Chicago, using a Boeing 747-400 Freighter aircraft, says Qantas Freight. After stopping in Dallas, the aircraft will continue direct to Sydney, Australia.

Dallas will become the fourth US city serviced by Qantas Freight. The others are Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles.

"This is a market that we have been looking at for some time," says Stephen Cleary, executive manager of Qantas Freight. "Demand for air freight between Texas and Australia is well establishedthe service will also give our customers in Shanghai one-stop access to markets in the southern United States."
