The former Ansett New Zealand has begun operations under its new identity as Qantas New Zealand. The Australian flag carrier signed the franchise deal earlier this year with Zazu, the majority NZ-owned group of investors which acquired Ansett New Zealand from News Limited in March. The group's corporate name has been changed to Tasman Pacific Airlines on the air operator's certificate.
