Qantas will trial a new in-flight entertainment (IFE) technology in October, allowing passengers to access in-flight content through a range of devices.

Q Streaming will allow passengers to stream content to individual tablets supplied by Qantas, the Oneworld member said.

Q-Streaming will available aboard a single Boeing 767-300 from the end of October to early December. Passengers will also be able to watch in-flight content on their laptop computers, smartphone, tablet or other WIFI enabled device later on in the trial.

Further applications of the new IFE technology will be assessed upon the completion of the trial, added Qantas.
