Qatar Airways has cancelled four Airbus A350-900s which the Middle Eastern carrier had on order.
The cancellation has been disclosed in Airbus's latest backlog data, covering the first half of this year.
Qatar Airways had originally ordered the twinjets in June 2007.
It has not specified the reason for the decision but Qatar Airways has previously opted to lease four A350-900s from Latin American carrier group LATAM.
The Middle Eastern region's rapid growth has been stifled in recent months, with concerns about overcapacity from local operators.
Qatar Airways is also dealing with the impact of restrictions imposed on the airline by neighbouring Gulf states.
Its cancellation nevertheless leaves it with 39 ordered A350-900s – of which 15 have been delivered – and outstanding orders for 37 A350-1000s, the first of which is due to be handed over to Qatar this year.
