Italian regulators are considering a route request from Qatar Airways to operate a cargo service linking Doha with Chicago via Milan.
The Italian CAA, ENAC, says in a statement that it is still considering the request, adding this would be an additional traffic request not covered by the existing bilateral agreement between Italy and Qatar. Alongside the technical criteria, it adds the decision will also be made in the light of evaluations on air transport policy from the country's new government.
