Qatar Airways has been cleared to allow passenger carriage of electronic devices in the cabin of its US-bound flights.
Its hub at Doha was among 10 airports to which an outright ban, unveiled in March, applied to personal electronic devices in the cabin of aircraft operating to the USA.
But Qatar Airways states that, with immediate effect, the prohibition has been lifted. It says that the airport and the airline have "met with all requirements" of new guidelines from the US Department of Homeland Security.
Similar restrictions have gradually been lifted from other airports originally included on the US list.
