Qatar Airways will deploy its Airbus A319 Corporate Jetliner (CJ) on scheduled routes from Doha to destinations in Europe and the Middle East during the peak summer season only, with the aircraft available for Qatar royal family use and private charters the rest of the year.

The 36-seat A319CJ, which was ordered in October with an option on a second, is set for interior completion by Jet Aviation in late May and will appear on static and flying display at the Paris air show in June.

"There is a very big demand for premium class," says Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar Al Baker, adding that Middle East countries that could be served include Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.
