Qatar Airways will in March launch nonstop service from its Doha base to Bulgarian capital Sofia.
The Qatari flag carrier currently operates to Sofia via Bucharest in Romania.
Flightglobal's Innovata schedules show that no other scheduled carrier flies directly between Doha and Sofia.
Also in March, Qatar Airways is to boost frequency of its flights linking its base with Ankara in Turkey, from five per week to six.
However, it will scale down its Doha-Zagreb operation, to serve the Croatian capital five times a week instead of the current six.
