AgustaWestland has signed a deal with Qatar's Gulf Helicopters for five AW139 helicopters. The rotorcraft will be equipped for offshore passenger transport operations, with the order building on a 2007 order for 12 of the aircraft.
Owned by Qatar Petroleum, Gulf Helicopters provides helicopter services throughout the Middle East, India and North Africa. It has its own in-house maintenance facility and is an authorised service centre for the AW139, and has a full flight simulator for the type for its own operations and third party use.
