The US EarthWatch company, whose Early Bird commercial remote sensing satellite was lost in orbit after a Start 1 launch last December, has cancelled plans for the launch of a replacement and is beginning construction of the Ball Aerospace-built 1m resolution craft, the QuickBird 1, to be launched on a Russian Cosmos booster.
