Rolls-Royce announced another big order yesterday, bringing its total sales revealed during the show to $2billion.

The latest order, worth $700million, is from Gulfstream for Tay engines to power GIV-SP aircraft.

"With deliveries scheduled to 2003, we look forward to entering the next millennium as a continued supplier to Gulfstream of reliable, high performance engines," says R-R Commercial Engines managing director John Cheffins.

It's been a winning week for R-R which has announced a stack of others.

They include confirmation by British Airways of its selection of RB211-524 engines for 14 additional Boeing 747-400 airliners, and South African Airways becoming the first airline to commit to the latest RB-211 variant, the -524G/H-T.
