Bids were put in on 11, June for the Royal Air Force's £1 billion ($1.52 billion) future medium-range air-to-air missile for the Eurofighter EJ2000 - seen carrying mock-ups of the Meteor missile offered by a British Aerospace-led team. BAe ASRAAM missiles are also visible. Hughes also bid. BAe's team includes Matra, Daimler-Benz's LFK, Saab, Alenia and GEC Marconi. Hughes is offering an improved AIM-120 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM). Raytheon may have offered an AMRAAM-based design.
