The US Defence Acquisition Board has given the Boeing Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche helicopter programme a green light to begin engineering manufacturing and development (EMD). The milestone II decision clears the way to move from the prolonged demonstration/validation phase to full-scale development. A $3.1 billion EMD contract has been agreed in advance.
