Hangar space on the outskirts of London and land on which to build your own hangar is on offer to business operators and aircraft owners at EBACE.
Regional Airports (RAL), owner of London Biggin Hill and Southend airports, is offering incentives to develop facilities at these unrestricted slot airports to the south-east and east of the capital, respectively.
A range of options is being offered by independently owned RAL (booth 875), from renting the land so operators can build their own hangar, to providing short- or long-term hangarage on an individual aircraft basis.
Peter Lonergan, director at London Biggin Hill, says: “Business aircraft manufacturers have been enjoying a strong surge of growth and this trend is continuing. Space to keep this growing fleet is in short supply, especially in the UK, and Biggin Hill and Southend are ideal for this market sector. We are very keen to attract both hangar operators and individual aircraft owners, with rent-free periods in the first instance.”
With a 1,808m (5,930ft) runway, Biggin Hill boasts two new hangars that are already fully occupied and is close to agreement on a further 4,100m2 (44,000ft2), some of which will be available to individual aircraft owners.
Southend airport offers 24/7 capability and a 1,590m runway that can accommodate small and mid-size jets including the Beechcraft Premier I, Bombardier Challenger and Learjets, and Dassault Falcon 50, 200 and 900s
Southend currently has three sites available, together with two larger sites suitable for maintenance or fixed-base operators.
