The US Navy has awarded Raytheon Systems $28 million for work involving the Rolling Airframe Missile, including $18 million for engineering support. The USN will use the remaining funds to upgrade missiles with a newly designed infrared image-scanning seeker which allows for autonomous guidance against threats that do not use an active radar. The latter combines purchases for the US and German navies.
