Raytheon Systems’ first of four UK-modified Sentinel R1 Airborne Stand-off Radar (ASTOR) aircraft has successfully completed a three-week series of flight tests. Raytheon says the heavily modified Bombardier Global Express business jet conducted four flights totalling more than 13h during the campaign, reaching a maximum altitude of 47,000ft (14,300m) and an indicated airspeed of Mach 0.88. The aircraft will this week return to the company’s Broughton facility in Wales for further systems integration work, having been painted at Sprayavia’s Norwich site.
