Raytheon has windtunnel-tested its contender for the US Air Force/Navy Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) Increment 2 contest at the National Institute for Aviation Research in Wichita, Kansas.
The company is offering an all-new airframe derived from its larger Joint Stand-Off Weapon to meet the requirement for a 115kg (250lb)-class precision-guided weapon able to attack moving targets.
Boeing, teamed with Lockheed Martin, is offering a derivative of its in-production Increment 1 fixed-target SDB.
