Raytheon has announced two major contracts that could be worth more than $500 million over six years.

The first, worth $55.1 million, is a tri-services agreement with the US Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps to provide total logistics support for McDonnell Douglas C-9 aircraft. If the six one-year option periods are exercised, the value of the contract would be $474.9 million.

The C-9, a modified DC-9 is used by the USAF for medical evacuation; the USN and USMC aircraft are used for passenger and cargo support. Included are three aircraft that are part of the Air Force One fleet used for US presidential transport, and one aircraft dedicated to the transport of the Nato Supreme Allied Commander.

The second contract, worth $29.8 million, is for the Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP) to provide repair services for the F/A-18 AN/APG-65 radar programme. The contract includes a three-year base period followed by two one-year options. This includes repair services, consumable parts, repair management and data reporting.

The AN/APG-65 radar is an all-weather, multi-mode sensor providing features for air-to-air and air-to-surface missions. Work will be performed at a radar and electro-optic repair facility in Indianapolis in the USA.
