US regional airlines maintained their growth in the first six months of the year, with revenue kilometre miles increasing by 3% to more than 13.3 billion. The average load factor, says the US Regional Airline Association, was 53.5%, up slightly over the same period a year ago. The number of passengers boarding aircraft increased by 2.4% to 31.5 million from 30.8 million. Simmons Airlines, an American Eagle carrier, ranked as the largest regional airline, transporting 2.9 million passengers.
