EBACE’s internet cafe (booth 258) this year is sponsored by .aero, the internet domain name specifically for aviation companies and organisations.
Representatives from Sita, which sponsors and manages the domain name, will be on hand at the cafe to explain how companies can register for a .aero suffix and what the benefits of doing so are.
Companies using .aero will be clearly identified with the aviation industry and will establish a route for taking advantage of emerging technologies such as radio frequency identification (RFID) and VoIP.
Introduced in 2002, .aero was the first industry-specific top-level domain name to be established. More than 4,000 web addresses have been registered so far, including 40 airlines and 200 airports.
