The world's major regulators are meeting for the first time this week to examine the safety and operational issues raised by future very large transport aircraft, such as the Airbus A3XX.

Sponsored by the European Joint Aviation Authorities, the US Federal Aviation Administration, the International Civil Aviation Organisation and Eurocontrol, the 13-16 October seminar at Noordwijkerhout, Netherlands, will bring together manufacturers, potential operators, regulators and environmental specialists in a "brainstorming session".
