Germany has confirmed plans to merge the German Space Agency with the Aerospace Research Institute (DLR) by 1998. The new organisation, the German Aerospace Centre, will retain the acronym DLR. The restructure is designed to increase research competence and the effectiveness of international representation in aerospace research.
