German component repair specialist Lufthansa Technik Intercoat has announced two new variants of its proven Interfill epoxy compound. The company claims that parts treated with Interfill show superior wear-resistance and surface quality. Interfill is used to prolong the life of worn or corroded engine and airframe components by restoring damaged surfaces.
Versions 2 and 3 are designed to work in combination with other repair materials and on an expanded range of components. Interfill-1 will continue to be used for its original applications.
Interfill has been used in GE, P&W and Rolls-Royce engines, Airbus A300 and A340, Boeing 737 and 747 airframes, and auxiliary power units.
Lufthansa Technik Intercoat was founded in 2001 by Lufthansa Technik (51% holding) and the Interturbine Group. It is located in Kaltenkirchen, near Hamburg airport.
