A revolutionary new line of custom finish paints from DuPont could radically alter the future look of aircraft.
The company's Chromobase basecoat/clearcoat paint is colourless but, by reflecting light through a five layer flake of metal oxides, gives vehicles a multicoloured prism effect. The resulting colours change with the viewing angle like a peacock feather or rainbow trout.
DuPont claims the Chromobase finishes will find its way into numerous applications.
