A new business aircraft operator is set to begin services this week to meet the increasing demand for corporate charter within the Gulf states.

Rizon Jet will operate from its bases in Bahrain and Sharjah, in the United Arab Emirates and will kick off with a six-seat Beechcraft Premier 1A light business jet. "A second Premier I is scheduled for delivery shortly while our mid-size Hawker 900XP is expected to enter service in November," says Rizon Jet chief marketing officer Assaad Abiad.

Rizon has also ordered a large-cabin Bombardier Challenger 605, which is earmarked for delivery early next year.

Abiad says Rizon plans to expand its product portfolio to include aircraft management, sales and leasing and is also exploring a partnership with Hawker Beechcraft, formerly Raytheon Aircraft, to establish a business jet maintenance centre in the region.
