Robinson Helicopters has delivered its 1,000th R44 piston single helicopter, to a private Canadian customer, eight years after the first four-seat machine was handed over. The Torrance, California-based company has also clinched an order from Argentina's Border Patrol, the Gendarmeria Nacional, for three four-seat R44 helicopters. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery in May and will be deployed for drug enforcement missions along Argentina's northern border with , Brazil and Bolivia. Robinson delivered a record 270 R44s last year.
