Rockwell Collins has begun a major management reorganisation ahead of the imminent spin-off of its avionics and communications business from parent Rockwell International.

The spin-off will see Rockwell split into an automation business with revenues of around $4.5 billion a year, and the new Rockwell Collins, with annual sales of around $3.1 billion from its avionics and communications activities.

Executive changes see Robert Chiusano as executive vice-president and chief operating officer, government systems at the new Rockwell Collins. Neal Keating becomes executive vice-president and chief operating officer, commercial systems. Both will report to chief executive Clay Jones.

Chiusano was formerly vice-president and general manager of Rockwell Collins Government Systems. Keating was vice-president/general manager of Rockwell Collins Passenger Systems.
