Rolls-Royce is forming a joint venture with Israeli company Blades Technologies which will see the setting up of two $40 million manufacturing plants for compressor blades. Initial production is due to start in Israel in October, with a second Scottish site opening in late 1999. Blades Technologies is owned jointly by Israeli blades manufacturer Iscar and Pratt & Whitney.
