Russian state firm Rostec is in negotiations with
“A commercial proposal has been presented to the Indian side earlier this February and after the commercial terms are agreed upon, a firm order is expected to be received this year,” says the company in a statement.
The sale, if concluded, would be a follow on to previous Indian orders for the type. In 2008, Rostec unit Rosoboronexport received an order for 80 Mi-17V-5s, and in 2012-2013 contracts were concluded for 71 additional units.
All 151 helicopters from these earlier orders have been delivered, says Rostec.
“I am sure that the contract will be concluded this year, perhaps even in a few months,” says Rostec chief executive Sergei Chemezov.
