American Airlines and Cathay Pacific Airways have applied for US Department of Transportation approval for a wide-ranging codesharing agreement. The air services arrangement between the USA and Hong Kong does not allow codesharing but the oneworld alliance partners say they expect a new accord finalised in April to remove restrictions.
Garduda hugs MAS
Garuda Indonesia and Malaysia Airlines (MAS) have signed a codeshare agreement covering five major routes between their respective home countries. The agreement covers 58 weekly services between Kuala Lumpur and Indonesian cities Jakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar (Bali) and Medan. Pulau Pinang-Medan is among the routes.
Hong Kong's 39th bilateral
Cambodia and Hong Kong have signed a new air services agreement allowing the long-term continuation of flights. The agreement is the 39th to be signed by Hong Kong, which were previously negotiated on its behalf by the UK.
