Pan-African low-cost carrier Fastjet is "about a week away" from securing the AOC for its new Zimbabwean subsidiary.
Speaking at the World Routes conference in Durban, Fastjet chief commercial officer Richard Bodin says that the first A319 for its Zimbabwe start-up has been delivered and a "proving flight" will be carried out in the coming days.
He expects operations to begin "very soon" after the AOC has been secured.
Separately, Bodin predicts that the AOC for the carrier’s Zambian operation is “a few months away” from being issued.
