++ US Airways is seeking US Department of Transportation (DoT) permission to start services to Amsterdam early in 1998 from Philadelphia International, where the airline is to build a $300 million terminal. ++ Northwest is seeking US DoT approval to codeshare with KLM on its Philadelphia-Amsterdam route, to begin on 1 May using McDonnell Douglas DC-10s. Northwest is also to increase flights from Detroit to Beijing from three to five flights a week from 5 April, 1998 ++ UPS has added a new route to Penang, Malaysia, extending its six-times a week service from its Taiwan hub via Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, using McDonnell Douglas DC-8s. ++ Delta Air Lines has started a daily non-stop service from Atlanta, Georgia, to Grand Cayman. ++ Eva Air is to start operating from Taipei to Osaka from March 1998 using Boeing MD-11s under a codesharing agreement with Air Nippon, together operating two flights a day. ++ Crossair will start a Basle-Lisbon route in March 1998, operated by -Portugalia Embraer RJ145s. ++ SAS is to offer two daily flights to London Stansted Airport from Stockholm Arlanda in March 1998.
