-From 21 February Qantas will suspend its twice weekly Brisbane-Jakarta-Kuala Kumpur and Melbourne-Jakarta services, suspend its thrice-weekly Brisbane-Bangkok service and extend its thrice-weekly Perth-Jakarta service to Bangkok, adding one flight a week while suspending its non-stop Perth-Bangkok service.

-Dragonair plans to launch a new thrice weekly passenger service from Hong Kong to Fuzhou, Fujian Province, in China, from 25 February, using an Airbus A320. The city represents the Hong Kong carrier's 18th destination in China and 27th in the region.

-Using the capabilities of its three new Embraer RJ145 twinjets based at fast-growing UK regional airport Southampton Airport, British Regional Airlines (BRAL) has announced that it is to start new European services from the south of England site, starting with the Belgian capital Brussels at the end of January, followed by Dublin on 1 March and Zurich on 29 March.

-Having started its daily Fairchild Dornier 328 service from Southampton in the UK to Amsterdam Schiphol in the Netherlands on 6 January, Suckling has now gained the necessary Schiphol slots to increase its frequency to three-times daily.

-From 1 April, Japan Airlines will operate from Nagoya to Los Angeles thrice weekly, Nagoya to London twice weekly and Hiroshima to Honolulu once a week (pending talks with the USA).
