-Crossair will operate Swissair services to Baku in Azerbaijan, Riga in Latvia, Samara in Russia and Tbilisi, Georgia from 1 May. Meanwhile, Crossair has added a weekday Basle-Malaga via Geneva service, and two flights a week to Gerona.

-Gulf Air will introduce a twice-weekly service on 4 July alternating between Abu Dhabi and Bahrain in the UAE to Kathmandu, Nepal.

-Kenya Airways is to start serving Lagos, Nigeria three times a week, stopping at Douala, Cameroon twice a week.

-British Airways franchise partner GB Airways has resumed flights to Mallorca from London Gatwick after 16 years.

-Air France will introduce its first Boeing 777s on its Paris-CDG to New York Kennedy and Paris to Sao Paulo/Rio de Janeiro flights from 18 June, and fly to Shanghai from 11 May.

-Transavia is adding Izmir, Turkey to its services from 18 April and will increase frequency to Alicante, Barcelona and Malaga in Spain, Faro in Portugal, Nice in France and Tenerife, Canary Islands.

-Sabena will begin a daily nonstop Newark-Brussels service on 15 April and a four-times a week Montreal-Brussels service on 4 May.

-Star Alliance partners Varig Airlines of Brazil and Thai Airways International have agreed a reciprocal arrangement to join their frequent flyer programmes with Air New Zealand.

-Northwest Airlines is to inaugurate a thrice weekly service between Detroit, Michigan and Nagoya, Japan on 2 June.

-Korean Air has suspended its Seoul-Guam route as well as flights to Tel Aviv and Cairo. KAL has started a Seoul-Copenhagen freighter service, with cargo flights from Seoul to Anchorage-Atlanta-Miami to start in August.

-Finnair will codeshare with British Airways on a new Gatwick-Helsinki service, while it is launching a new Helsinki-Madrid service.

-Canadian Airlines is to operate Heathrow- Toronto and Heathrow-Ottawa services, using a Boeing 767ER.

-Transavia is to offer an Amsterdam-Casablanca, Morocco, service.
