Aloha flights - Canadian Airlines, in partnership with Air Pacific of Fiji, will begin a three-times weekly service from 7 December between Auckland and Honolulu that will dovetail with Canadian's daily Toronto-Honolulu and Vancouver-Honolulu services. Nonstop Mardi Gras - Air Canada has begun a daily nonstop service between Toronto and New Orleans using McDonnell Douglas DC-9s. Slots granted - ProAir of Detroit and Mexicana are to benefit from the US Department of Transportation's policy of granting slot exemptions at high density US airports. ProAir will use its two slots at New York La Guardia for a nonstop service to Detroit. Mexicana plans a winter daily nonstop service between Chicago and Mexico City. MetroJet map - MetroJet, the low-cost airline launched by US Airways this year, will add new services in January. Two daily nonstops flights will be introduced between Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Hartford, Connecticut, and between Fort Lauderdale and Washington Dulles. Comair expands - Comair of Cincinnati will begin a daily, nonstop regional jet service between Dayton, Ohio, and Boston on 1 December and plans a nonstop Dayton-New York La Guardia jet service from June 1999. Saturdays added - Northwest Airlines is adding a Saturday departure to its Detroit-Nagoya nonstop service from 3 December.
