United extra - United Airlines is to introduce an additional daily non-stop flight from San Francisco to Hong Kong, from 10 June to 7 September. United already operates a regular daily non-stop service between the two cities and says demand for US-Hong Kong routes remains strong.

China Southern date - China Southern Airlines and Delta Air Lines have set 28 March as the start date for their new code-sharing partnership, covering transpacific and domestic US services. Delta will add its code to China Southern's Boeing 777-operated flights between Guangzhou and Los Angeles. China Southern will in turn add its code to Delta flights between Los Angeles and 15 US cities.

Dragonair boost - Hong Kong's Dragonair has boosted services to Phnom Penh in Cambodia and Shanghai in China. A third weekly Hong Kong-Phnom Penh service has been added, as has a fourth daily service to Shanghai.

Air Lanka share - Air Lanka was to have started codesharing late in March with Emirates, which bought into the Sri Lankan airline last year. Flights initially covered are those operated by Emirates between Colombo and both Jakarta and Singapore. Air Lanka also aims to open new services of its own this year to Sydney and Beirut, and codeshare on Emirates' flights between Dubai and Stockholm.

Lufthansa - Lufthansa was to have expanded codeshare arrangements with Air New Zealand and Thai Airways International in its summer timetable starting 28 March. The Air New Zealand expansion would see the agreement including Lufthansa-operated flights between Frankfurt and Los Angeles connecting to and from Auckland. The German carrier said it would also increase services between Germany and Australia and New Zealand through the expansion of its codeshare agreement with Thai.
