Delta Air Lines has terminated its codeshare with Aer Lingus across the Atlantic following a decision by the Irish carrier to recommend to the Dublin government that it approve an alliance with American Airlines and British Airways. Air Canada and Mexicana have formed a code-share and marketing partnership between Canada and Latin America, which will see the carriers linking their hubs in Montreal, Toronto and Mexico City. Meanwhile, Air Canada regional airline Air BC will launch daily nonstop service between Denver, Colorado, and Winnipeg, Manitoba, on 5 July. THY is seeking to add Miami to its US network, and has applied to the US Department of Transportation for permission to amend its foreign carrier permit. The Turkish carrier serves New York and Chicago and hopes to begin flights to Miami on 1 June. The USA and Israel have agreed to amend their air transport agreement to allow codeshares between the Israeli national airline El Al and American Airlines. This opens the way for the implementation of codeshare agreements signed several years ago between the two carriers. Reno Air has began an expanded US West Coast schedule, introducing five daily roundtrips between Orange County and San Francisco and more flights between Los Angeles and San Jose and San Francisco. A second daily service between Seattle and Anchorage was launched and a third will be added during May. Cathay Pacific and South African Airways have signed a memorandum of understanding to create a long-term partnership which will include codesharing, joining frequent flier programmes and ground-handling. Team Lufthansa member Augsburg Airways is to start a once weekly service to St Tropez, France from Munich using a Bombardier Dash 8. Capacity constraints have limited services this summer, but the airline expects to raise the number of departures next year.
