Calling Pittsburgh
US Airways chairman Stephen Wolf has called for a restoration of Pittsburgh- London services, abandoned by British Airways. The Bermuda II treaty bars the US airline from the route.
Express to Toronto
US Express Airways is starting a weekday service between Washington National and Toronto. It will be operated by regional partner Mesa Airlines.
Delta/Air France fly to Lyon
Alliance partners Delta Air Lines and Air France will start codeshare services between New York Kennedy and Lyon in April 2000.
Star Alliance codeshares
Air Canada has started codesharing with Star Alliance partner United Airlines between Halifax and Washington using a 50-seat Canadair regional jet. United and prospective new Star member Mexicana, meanwhile, have applied for approval from the US Department of Transportation to expand codesharing arrangements between the USA and Mexico to include Mexicana-operated flights between Chicago and Monterray; between Denver and Zacatecasl and beyond Zacatecas to Leon.
American-EVA codeshare
American Airlines and Eva Airways have won approval from the US Department of Transportation to codeshare between Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle from Taipei.
