Fourth Chinese city

Malaysia Airlines has launched scheduled services to Xiamen, making it the fourth Chinese city to which it operates. The carrier already operates services to Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai and has been operating charter flights to Xiamen for seven years.

Shared flights to Seoul

Korean Air and Malaysia Airlines have launched code-share services between Seoul and Kuala Lumpur. Initially covering four weekly flights between the two capitals with two operated by each airline, MAS is to add one more weekly frequency in January.

Emirates expansion

Dubai's flag-carrier Emirates plans to launch a new service to Entebbe, capital of Uganda, on 29 March 2000. It has also been given permission to serve Bahrain from Dubai.

ANA first at Pudong

All Nippon Airways has become the first international airline to move its operation from Shanghai Hongqiao to the new Pudong International Airport opened in October. ANA's first flight service to/from Kansai was operated on 31 October.
