Lufthansa was the first European Union airline to re-introduce flights to Belgrade, on 26 March. It serves the city daily from Munich, and has been followed by Alitalia (from Milan and Rome), Olympic Airways (from Athens), and Austrian Airlines (from Vienna). Swissair returned four days earlier, on 22 March, with the initiation of flights from Zurich, while CSA and British Airways are poised to begin flights from Prague and London Gatwick, respectively. Pakistan International Airlines is starting a twice-weekly service between Karachi and Birmingham, via Islamabad and Copenhagen, on 16 April. The airline will also operate nine return flights a week between New York and Manchester. Team Lufthansa partner Augsburg Airways has begun flights between London City Airport and Munster Osnabruck. Brymon Airways will transfer its Newcastle-Belfast International services to Belfast City Airport on 2 May. Lloyd Aereo Boliviano (LAB) has begun a weekly service from La Paz, Bolivia to Madrid and Barcelona, in Spain. Jersey European is to launch routes from London City Airport to Leeds and Jersey in May and to Aberdeen in September. United Airlines has begun a daily non-stop Los Angeles-Paris service and added a second daily Los Angeles-London flight. Qantas and Canadian Airlines' codesharing operation between Australia and Canada will end on 2 July, following the Air Canada merger. Qantas will replace its daily 747 service from Sydney to Honolulu with daily 767 flights, but will launch four onward 767 flights to Toronto, and three to Vancouver. Northwest Airlines inaugurated a twice-weekly Detroit-Shanghai service on 5 April. Meanwhile, Northwest Airlink carrier Express Airlines will launch regional jet services on 1 June using Bombardier CRJs, with four daily round trips between Memphis, Tennessee, and Greenville/Spartanburg, South Carolina, followed on 1 July by Memphis-Mobile, Alabama.
