Canada's WestJet Airlines has announced a 14% increase in weekly departures in the first stage of a two-phase expansion planned for this year. Beginning in March the carrier will add Comox, British Columbia, to its network as well as increasing frequencies on present routes in Western Canada. The Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation has signed an agreement with Saudi Arabian Airlines to transport 20,500 of the 72,000 Indian pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia for the Muslim Haj pilgrimage. The Haj operations begin on January 27 and last until April. Under the agreement, Saudi Arabian Airlines will transport the pilgrims from Cochin and Mumbai, while Air India will transport the rest of the pilgrims from six other Indian cities including Delhi. Air India is to charter six aircraft from Kampuchea Airlines for carrying the pilgrims. Northwest Airlines will begin seasonal service between Memphis, Tennessee, and Vancouver on 2 June, operating one roundtrip every Saturday. Brymon Airways has launched new services to Dublin from Bristol and Plymouth.
