United Express carrier Atlantic Coast Airlines is to start single daily Bombardier CRJ services on 7 June from Chicago O'Hare to Albany and Buffalo New York; Hartford, Connecticut; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Charlotte, North Carolina; Kansas City, Missouri; and Omaha, Nebraska. UK cargo operator Atlantic Airlines has based one of its Lockheed L-188 Electra freighters at Gothenburg, Sweden, where it will operate for Falcon Air for six weeks on behalf of the Swedish Post Office. The aircraft will operate nightly flights between Gothenburg and Stockholm's Arlanda airport, covering for an aircraft that is in scheduled maintenance. Russia's Transaero and China Airlines are to launch a weekly joint service between Moscow and Taipei in October. Singapore Airlines Cargo, a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has received its Air Operator Certificate as it prepares to begin operations as a separate all-cargo airline from July. American Airlines is to end daily services between Los Angeles and Paris, and between Chicago and Rome, due to "changing economic conditions". Virgin Altantic will launch services between London Heathrow and Lagos, Nigeria, by the end of its 2001 summer timetable. It will be using Boeing 747s. British Airways is ceasing its services between London Gatwick and Montego Bay, Jamaica, Havana and Cancun with its summer 2002 schedule as part of the reorganisation of operations at the London airport. Low fare carrier Delta Express is adding a second daily Providence, Rhode Island, to Ft Lauderdale, Florida, service from 1 June. Delta Air Lines has expanded its codeshares with SkyTeam partner CSA Czech Airlines on flights via Prague to Berlin, Bologna, Rome, Copenhagen, Oslo, Zurich and Helsinki. Delta will also offer services on CSA flights to Prague via Frankfurt. AeroMexico will introduce four times weekly services between Los Angeles and Acapulco in July.
