Two Argentine airlines, Dinar Líneas Aéreas and Líneas Aéreas Entre Rios (LAER), have been granted domestic service licences. Dinar will fly to several locations in Patagonia, including the lucrative Rio-Gallegos route, while LAER has been given permission to expand services to the northern Argentine coast and pampas. German charter carrier LTU has temporarily suspended its services to Cape Town, Los Angeles and Bangkok until 29 June for operational reasons. The airline says that a shortage of aircraft has forced it to temporarily cut services. One of its Boeing 767s has been wet-leased to tour operator Frosch Touristik for the duration of the European summer. Adria Airways will re-introduce flights from Ljubljana, Slovenia, to Podgorica, Montenegro, Yugo-slavia, on May 30, after an 11 year absence. Brunei, Chile, New Zealand, Singapore and the USA have entered into the first multi-lateral open-skies aviation pact. Trans World Airlines will launch daily Boeing 757 services between Boston and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on 1 July. American Airlines' code will be added later as part of the gradual integration of TWA's operations. Trans States Airlines, operating as Trans World Express, is to replace regional jets with turboprops on eight daily flights from St Louis, Missouri, from 1 July to stay within scope clause restrictions now that American Airlines owns Trans World Airlines. The displaced Embraer ERJ-145s will be redeployed to a new US Airways Express service in the northeast USA. Northwest is ceasing three Asia/Pacific services from October: Seattle-Osaka, Osaka-Kaohsiung and Osaka-Kuala Lumpur. Varig will launch six weekly flights between Los Angeles and Lima, Peru, with continuing service to Brazil, on 1 June. Delta Air Lines will end its New York-Lyon service on 1 September, and has filed for authority to use the frequency for a daily Boston-Paris service.
