Northwest Airlink operator Express Airlines I is upgrading services from August between Appleton and Minneapolis/St Paul with Bombardier CRJ200s replacing a Saab 340 and a BAE Systems Avro RJ85 on two of its five daily flights. British Airways has launched a weekly flight between London Gatwick and Providenciales, in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The flight will be operated by a Boeing 767-300ER via Nassau, Bahamas. Lebanon's national all-cargo carrier Trans Mediterranean Airways (TMA) has renegotiated traffic rights to Thailand and Japan after a long suspension of operations to the Far East. TMA has been granted seven weekly all-cargo flights between Beirut and Bangkok, via Dubai or Sharjah, as well as fifth freedom traffic rights between Bangkok and Shanghai, Bangkok and Tokyo, and vice versa. TMA has also been granted two weekly all-cargo flights and fifth freedom traffic rights between Japan and Bangkok and vice versa. US Airways will replace the five-daily mainline services operating between Boston and Baltimore/ Washington in August, and six flights operated by its "no frills" MetroJet division later this year. Taiwan's China Airlines is to launch twice-weekly services between Taipei-Seattle-San Francisco. The routes will operate every Wednesday and Saturday. American Trans Air is to launch Midway to New York Newark services from August, and to Miami in November. Northwest Airlines will introduce nonstop daily flights from Memphis to Baltimore with McDonnell Douglas DC-9s from September. Delta Air Lines will begin nonstop service between New York Kennedy Airport and New Orleans in September this year. Flights will operate with MD-88s. Jet Airways is adding flights from Delhi to Mumbai, Delhi to Bangalore, Bangalore to Mumbai and Bangalore to Hyderabad for this summer. Polish Airlines is introducing a new nonstop four-times weekly service from Warsaw to Odessa in Ukraine.
